What is the FEY Cosmetics difference?

At FEY Cosmetics we strive to make highly efficient skincare products that consist of natural and organic ingredients and are completely glycol-free. This is the reason why we have designed a new generation of skincare formulas that intelligently combine high and low molecular weight fragments of hyaluronic acid, which effectively complement other vital ingredients. All this without any artificial preservatives or additives.

No. Also we do not use any of the so-called -dirty dozen-: parabens, fragrances, sodium laureth sulfate (SLS), triclosan, petrolatum, PEGS, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, siloxanes, DBP dibutyl phthalate), Cocamide DEA and Lauramide DEA, BHA and BHT, coal-tar dyes (C.I.). Read our blog article "Do You Know the Ingredients in Your Cosmetics?".

Are the products tested on animals?

No, our products are not tested on animals. Our formulas are cruelty-free and vegan-friendly. They are also glycol-free and paraben-free.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid (hyaluronan or HA) is one of the major substances responsible for optimal skin health. Based on its phenomenal ability to hold and bind moisture, hyaluronic acid can hold 1000 times its own weight in water.

Hyaluronic acid is produced naturally by our body, and, while being widely distributed, about 50% of the total HA is found in the skin. The amount of collagen and elastin in your skin in large measure depends on hyaluronic acid; thanks to its moisturizing and tissue regeneration abilities, hyaluronan plays a fundamental role in preventing and slowing signs of aging.

Why do we need Hyaluronic Acid?

Due to its unique ability to hold a large amount of moisture (up to 1000 times its weight in water), the level of hyaluronic acid in the dermis is critical for skin moisturizing. As a natural moisturizer, hyaluronic acid helps both dry and oily skin to remain soft and hydrated. It also supports skin volume, fullness and texture restoration by revitalizing collagen and stimulating skin cells. Other substantial benefits of hyaluronic acid include enhanced wound healing, resistance to skin scarring, and a decrease of wrinkles and fine lines depth.

What is skin aging and how to use Hyaluronic Acid against it?

Skin aging in great measure depends on decreasing amount of hyaluronic acid, especially high molecular weight HA. As the level of hyaluronic acid decreases, your skin dehydrates and loses its elasticity while becoming saggier. The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles also becomes more prominent.

Injection-based hyaluronic acid procedures are popular as the easiest way to replenish the stock of hyaluronic acid by acting directly into the dermis, however, non-invasive topical skincare products remain consumers' first choice due to their price, convenience, and wide product range.

Why are some Hyaluronic Acid-based skin care products so disappointingly inefficient?

Hyaluronic acid plays an important role in topical skincare products, especially when it comes to moisturizing and improving skin elasticity. At the same time, the key parameter of hyaluronic acid is the different molecular weight of its fragments, which stipulates different biological properties.

As a matter of fact, many topical skincare products that contain hyaluronic acid have a limited effect on skin dermis. Because high molecular weight hyaluronic acid fragments have a hard time penetrating the epidermis, the above-mentioned products do nothing else but place a moisturizer on top of the skin surface without providing any significant or long-lasting effect. These products only contain high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, which has a hard time penetrating the epidermis.

Glycols (mostly propylene glycol, butylene glycol, and polyethylene glycol) are considered the most advanced delivery vehicle used to increase the penetration of topical cosmetic products. Being relatively small molecules while having a high affinity to water, glycols can be quickly absorbed by the skin and deliver other ingredients into the dermis. However, despite their efficiency, glycols are now classified as a moderate hazard ingredient associated with a number of medical concerns, mostly related to allergies, immunotoxicity, irritation and enhanced skin absorption. Glycols can enhance penetration of other ingredients, chemicals, and toxins into the dermis as an absorption enhancer, increasing the potential for irritation. Read more about the delivery systems for active ingredients.
